The project formed part of the £140 million East Kilbride Enhancement Programme, delivering the full redevelopment of Hairmyres Station in South Lanarkshire.
McGregor Projects carried out roofing, cladding, internal fit-out and FF&E across the main station building and associated facilities. Works were delivered on a closed-site programme beside a live rail line, meeting Network Rail’s accessibility, safety and sustainability standards.
The redevelopment included the installation of solar panels to provide on-site renewable power and reduce operational energy demand.
The project achieved delivery within the Summer 2025 timeline, delivering 1,200 tonnes in annual carbon savings, and improved accessibility through step-free passenger access and modern passenger facilities. All works were completed to align with Net Zero targets.
